Beigel Bake is the oldest beigel shop in London and an enduring legacy of the Jewish presence once in Spitalfields.
The bakery is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week and has it’s own Wikipedia page.
Upon arrival, early on Sunday afternoon I found the shop heaving with beigel hungry hordes; with a queue that ran out into the street.
While standing in the queue I was able to snatch a moment with one of the furiously busy bakers
to explain about the project and was sent to visit Madame Tussauds (and see anybody there).
Before leaving, I had a glistening and properly chewy beigel stuffed with mounds of moist salt beef plus a kick of English mustard.
For the montage I have the brown paper bag that my Bagel was served in.
