Pancho’s Burritos
celebrates Mexico’s food heritage. Mexican flags drape from banisters above a mezzanine floor, there are brightly coloured wall murals, and Mexican foods, such as burritos, enchiladas, tacos, tortillas and tostadas, are on offer.
Pancho’s Burritos started life as a stall in Arndale Market in 2010 before expanding to Chester road and is about to open a third outlet in Liverpool.
At the Chester Road outlet I met Aluano and Sandra.
Aluano skillfully rolled me a burrito slammed full with the beef in chipotle that he recommended, plus re-fried beans, griddled onions, jalapenos, cactus leaves, salsa, guacamole and sour cream; all for under a fiver.
I explained to Aluana and Sandra about what I was doing and received some sugar packets for the assemblage. Sandra then told me to go to Revolucion de Cuba to drink a Margarita and ask a waitress there for my next mission.
